The first festival day will feature ho'olaulea, Ka'u Coffee Tasting, a Ka'u Coffee Recipe Contest, day-long entertainment, hula and Ka'uCoffee displays, demonstrations, farm tours and offerings by local farmers. The second day will include the Ka'u Coffee College with educational seminars. The winner of and participants in the Miss Ka'u Coffee Pageant and Miss Peaberry competition of March 27 will reign over the event.
While rich in history, this newly discovered coffee growing region has been the recipient of international acclaim. Ka'u coffees have placed in the top 12 in the SCAA's annual international cupping competition for the past three consecutive years, with a strong 7th in 2009.
