The public is invited to two free presentations by Dr. Noris Ledesma of Florida’s Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden Center. She will appear in both Hilo (Sept 20th) and Waimea (Sept 23rd) to discuss “Growing and Marketing Specialty Tropical Fruit Crops.”
Ledesma’s research has appeared in several recent scientific publications and she has authored two books: “Tropical Mangos-How to Grow the World’s Most Delicious Fruit” and ‘”The Exotic Jackfruit: Growing the World’s Largest Fruit.”
The tropical fruit expert is stopping on the Big Island before headlining the 20th Annual Hawaii International Tropical Fruit Conference September 24-26 on Kauai. Presented by the statewide Hawaii Tropical Fruit Growers (HTFG), the Kauai conference is geared for farmers, educators, orchard managers and proponents of sustainable agriculture.
