Learn techniques for successful gardening in Hawaii, with Diana Duff, KOC Education Events Advisor.
The class is designed to help gardeners at all levels improve their knowledge and skills for successful gardening in Kona. Diana Duff, KOC Education Events Advisor, will conduct the class and field questions on green growing practices for West Hawaii.
Understanding each of our unique environments is paramount to gardening success here in Kona. In this class, we’ll discuss some of Kona’s unusual gardening challenges including those associated with using less offshore inputs. We’ll plants that will work best in your green garden. We will consider the effects of elevation and microclimates on your plants while considering ways of carving gardens out of rocky Kona soil. Ways of maintaining a beautiful garden during our various seasons and weather patterns will also be included. Come with your particular problems and you’ll get some solutions. |
