Savor the best Hawai'i grown and produced food: samples and displays by vendors, farmers and food producers and by the Hawai'i Community College Culinary Program, along with nutritional informationand entertainment.
Enter the 13th Annual Taste of Puna Cook-off competition in three categories -- pupus, entrees, desserts -- using foods grown and produced in Puna. Judged by founder Carl OKuyama; Hamakua Springs farmer Richard Ha; Tribune-Herald food writer Audrey Wilson; and cookbook author & freelance foodie writer Sonia Martinez.
Prizes in each category: 1st prize $250; 2nd prize: $150 gifts & gift certificate; 3rd prize $100 gifts & gift certificate.
